Profile

The department of computer science was established in 2013. The department functioning with the commencement of the UG course BSC Computer Science. The main aim of the department is to provide quality education to aspiring graduates. The course is specifically designed three year programme which aim to develop required professional skills and problem solving ability. After acquiring degree, there is further educational opportunities for higher studies like MSc, MCA, MBA, etc. at any universities. They will also get professional jobs in IT industries after completing this course.

Computer Science Association Inauguration 2018-19 ( Zerone-18)

Department of Computer Science conducted inaugural ceremony for Computer Science Association 2018-19 on 29th January 2019 at Pee Vees Arcade, Nilambur. The Chief guest Dr. K P Muhammed Basheer (Asst. Professor, SS College Areekode) inaugurated the ceremony, presided the session by Dr. P M Abdul Sakkir (Principal Incharge), welcomed by Mr. Ameerudheen A (Head, Dept. of Computer Science) and vote of thanks by Muhammed Anvar K (Association Secretary).

Department of Computer Science conducted a seminar on the topic “Introduction to python” for department students was held on 29th January 2019 at 1.30PM at Pee Vees Arcade, Nilambur. This session lead by Mr. Safeer Najmudheen (CEO, Talrop).

Gaming Competitions

Department of Computer Science conducted a gaming competition on 28th January 2019 at College campus. Students participated well in all leading mobile platform games like PubG, PESS, Ludo etc. and distributed cash prizes for first & second place winners.

Industrial Visit & Study Tour

Department of Computer Science organized Study Tour with an Industrial Visit to Hyderabad for the final year students on 30th December 2018 to 5th January 2019. Students and accompanying staffs visited Out Reach Facility NRSC, ISRO Hyderabad as part of industrial visit.

Department of Computer Science had conducted IT club inauguration on 8th October 2018 at Common Class Room (D-Block). IT club (INNFROZO) was inaugurated by Mr. Abdul Sakkir P.M (Principal in-charge). Mr. Suhail P (Technology fellow, Kerala Startup Mission) was the chief guest of this programme.

Teachers Day Celebration

Department of Computer Science celebrated Teachers Day in the memory of Dr. S Radhakrishnan’s birthday on September 5, 2018. Students and faculties of department gathered for the celebration.

Objectives

The Department of Computer Science, Amal college of Advanced Studies, has 3 class rooms with a capacity of 45 students in each and two of them are Smart Class Rooms. Our final year class room furnished with an interactive LCD TV with Wi-Fi, Internet browsing, HDMI and USB connectivity and second year class room furnished with LCD projector.

A well equipped Computer Lab functioning in the Office Block. Computer lab offers a good space for the students to explore their practical sessions. Around 40 computers with latest configuration are available with high speed internet facility.
