Department of Economics is established in the year 2013.As against the traditional courses in Economics, Department of Economics offers B. A. Economics with Foreign Trade. The students’ undergo three years training in applied areas of Foreign Trade, Documentations, Logistics and Export Marketing coupled with the theories of Economics. The students also get basic training in cooperation and banking through complementary courses.
The department has 180 students and three faculty members. Students are encouraged to learn beyond class rooms through yearly budget analysis, Industrial Visits and All India Study Tour, Project works et….Students are always in the forefront in organizing many novel and creative activities which leads to the holistic development of the students.
The Department also undertakes various programmes and activities to address the special needs of slow learners and advanced learners. Remedial coaching, Bridge Courses, Debates, JLG learning, Wall Magazine are the important among them
The Department also gives special focus on inculcating the research, innovation and knowledge sharing habits among the students and faculty members. In this direction we publish a research journal “Amal International Journal of Economics and Social Sciences” and final students are undertaking project works so that they are well acquainted with the basics of research studies
