Psychology is the scientific study of behavior and experiences. It has a wide range of applications from industry to commerce, education, health, and social services. The undergraduate Department of Psychology was started in2013 with a view to providing specialized training and teaching in the discipline of Psychology for students coming with a rural background. Our faculty members are dedicated teachers who are committed to academic development and success of students. Our curriculum enables the students to explore their interests within this exciting and important field of study.
Undergraduate students will gain familiarity with current knowledge about the important determinants of human behavior and with the methods used to expand that knowledge while developing critical thinking skills. Undergraduate areas of study include basic themes of psychology like perception, learning, intelligence, memory, cognition and development; social, personality psychology, health psychology, abnormal psychology, and psychological measurement.
