Organizational setup
Amal college Library follows a centralized library system. Books, which are required for immediate references, are only available in the department collection. The college library building is functional and modular in construction. It has an area of sq. ft. in
Sections
The Library has circulation section, newspaper reading section, Librarian’s office, Internet Browsing, and digital library Corner, technical section, general reading area, periodicals section, catalogue section, career stack area, UG, PG & Book Bank stack area, PG & reference Reading section, journals section and bound periodicals
Library collection
The library at present has a collection of 6500. The audio-visual section has a collection of 82 CDs, 13 Students manuscripts. The library subscribes to 39 periodicals and 11 Newspapers
Arrangements of the collection
Books are arranged on the shelves according to Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC), a scientific scheme of classification. This type of arrangement will help to keep the books on the same subject together with those on related subjects coming next to them. Open access facility is provided in the library to help the reader browsing the stack and selecting the books of his choice.n The Library offers Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) – a computerized catalogue service.
