National Seminar on Travel and Literature


The Postgraduate Department of English , Amal College in collaboration with Kerala State Higher Education Council organized a National Seminar on Travel and Literature  on 18.03.2019. Mr. P V Abdul Wahab ,MP , the Hon'ble  Patron, NMOC, inaugurated the seminar and  Ms Daya Bai, the renowned social activist was the Chief Guest . She delivered a talk on ‘ The Struggle of the Marginalised’ . Dr P M Abdul Sakir , the Principal delivered the Principal’s address. Dr. Omer O .Thasneem received the first copy of the Seminar Proceedings released by the Patron.   Mr Mohammed Shafeeq, Asst. Professor in the Department of English and the Coordinator of the Seminar  welcomed the gathering and Mr Shanavas Pattupara, the Head of the Department of English presided over the function . P M Usmanali , Secretary NMOC , Dr.K A Dhanya ,IQAC Coordinator , Mr Muneer Agragami, Asst. Professor of Malayalam and Mr Ali Jafar CH , Asst.Professor of Arabic offered felicitations and Mr Abdurahman , the Student Convenor proposed vote of thanks. Students from 19 colleges attended the seminar. 

In the Post Lunch Session, Dr. Omer O.Thasneem delivered the keynote address on Travel and Literature at Seminar Hall -1 . Mr. Shihabudheen. C introduced the speaker. Dr PM Abdul Sakir chaired the the paper presentation sessions  in Seminar Hall -2. 45 papers were presented in Seminar Hall 1 and 2. The certificates for the participants and paper presenters were given away by Dr. PM Abdul Sakir  , the Principal . The seminar was concluded at 5.30 with National Anthem.
