The Directorate of Minority Welfare, Govt of Kerala, sanctioned a Premarital Counselling Centre to the Minority Cell of the College. On 6th October 2018, the premarital Counselling Centre was inaugurated by Hon’ble Minister of Higher Education, Dr KT Jaleel at a function presided over by Sri PV Anvar MLA. The Minister pointed out that aim of the centre is to provide general and specific information, education and guidance about the problems and responsibilities of marriage and marital life. Sri PV Abdul Wahab MP, the founder and patron of the College delivered the keynote address. Dr. AB Moideen Kutty, The Director of the Directorate of Minority Welfare, was the Guest of honour. The Municipal Chairperson Smt. Pathmini Gopinath distributed certificates to the students who completed the workshop.
In the academic year of 2018-19, the Centre conducted six batches of premarital counselling workshops for 180 students of the College. One batch has 30 students and eight academic sessions. The workshop was led by eminent counsellors selected by the Directorate and delivered sessions on various aspects of premarital issues. It includes legal, cultural, biological, economic and familial aspects.
