About

The Internal Complaint Committee (ICC) is operating in accordance with the UGC (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal of Sexual Harassment of Women Employees and Students in Higher Educational Institutions) Regulations, 2015. The committee acts as a Special Cell in their respective institutions to address gender-based violence and organize gender sensitization programs. The committee’s primary responsibility is to investigate and resolve any complaints of sexual harassment from female employees and students, as well as provide them with support and guidance.

Activities

The college has implemented an anti-sexual harassment policy in compliance with the UGC (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal of Sexual Harassment of Women Employees and Students in Higher Educational Institutions) Regulations, 2015. The policy aims to create a safe and inclusive environment for students and staff by preventing and addressing incidents of sexual harassment. The policy also ensures strict confidentiality, protection against retaliation, and provides support services for the victim.

The Grievance Redressal Committee (GRC) at Amal College of Advanced Studies, Nilambur, plays a vital role in addressing individual student grievances. Upon receiving complaints, the committee assesses each case, mediates when necessary, and commits to resolving issues within fifteen days. Regular reports are provided to higher authorities, ensuring transparency and seeking guidance when needed. The GRC safeguards the interests of all stakeholders by actively engaging in fair and prompt grievance redressal.

Activities

The GRC at Amal College efficiently manages grievances received via online and in person, employing a standardized protocol for prompt resolution. Through awareness campaigns, the committee educates the college community on the grievance redressal mechanism. Collaborating with committees such as Anti-Ragging, Women’s Grievance Redressal, and Internal Complaints, the GRC ensures a coordinated effort for the timely and effective resolution of all issues raised by students and faculty members.

The main objective of the anti-ragging cell is to provide a safe and secure environment for all the students, and to ensure that there is no physical, emotional, or mental harm inflicted on anyone by means of ragging. The cell works closely with the management, staff, and students to create awareness about the harmful effects of ragging and to promote a healthy and positive atmosphere on campus. It also investigates any complaints related to ragging and takes strict action against the perpetrators. 

Activities

The anti-ragging policy is strictly enforced in colleges and students found to have engaged in any form of ragging are subject to disciplinary action, which may include suspension, rustication or even expulsion. The college administration is committed to providing a safe and conducive environment for students to pursue their education and achieve their goals without any fear of harassment or intimidation.

It collaborates with internal committees to implement inclusive policies, celebrates significant cultural and social equity days, and provides mentorship for marginalized students. The cell also facilitates accessibility initiatives, maintains equity-related data, and actively engages in feedback collection to assess and enhance the campus’s inclusivity measures.

The Socio-Economically Disadvantaged Groups (SEDG) Cell is dedicated to empowering students from underprivileged backgrounds by ensuring equal access to educational opportunities. It provides academic support, financial guidance, and personal counseling to address their unique challenges. The cell works to eliminate barriers to higher education, fosters confidence and skill development, and promotes an inclusive campus environment that enables marginalized students to thrive academically, socially, and professionally.

Activities

The SEDG Cell organizes orientation and mentorship programs, provides guidance on scholarships and government schemes, and arranges remedial classes for academic support. It conducts financial literacy sessions, career counseling, and soft skills training for capacity building. The cell facilitates peer support networks, hosts motivational talks by achievers from disadvantaged backgrounds, collaborates with NGOs and government agencies, and gathers feedback to continuously improve its support mechanisms and inclusivity efforts for underprivileged students.

The cell aids faculty and students in pursuing quality research by facilitating collaborations, securing funding, and promoting publication and dissemination. It plays a pivotal role in driving academic excellence and contributing to societal progress through meaningful research outputs and knowledge creation.

Activities

he R&D Cell organizes research methodology workshops, seminars, and faculty development programs. It assists in project proposal writing, manages research grants, and facilitates collaborations with industries and research organizations. The cell monitors ongoing projects, promotes research paper publication, and hosts annual research conferences. It encourages patent filing and innovation initiatives, maintains a repository of research outputs, and ensures compliance with ethical standards and intellectual property regulations across all research activities.
