About

The National Service Scheme (NSS), commonly known as NSS, is a student-oriented program that establishes a bridge between the campus and the community, the college and the village, knowledge and action. Its primary objective is the holistic personality development of students through community service. NSS actively collaborates with government departments to implement social security initiatives and raise awareness about them. By instilling a culture of social service among the younger generation, NSS plays a significant role in fostering societal well-being.

Activities

Amal College is proud to have two active National Service Scheme (NSS) units affiliated with the University of Calicut. Our NSS units diligently engage in a range of impactful activities within our campus. From regular campus cleaning and beautification initiatives to spreading awareness about anti-ragging and anti-drugs campaigns, we are committed to creating a safe and nurturing environment. Our units actively participate in observing important days, promote agriculture, and foster organic farming on campus. We organize blood donation camps, extend support to the homeless, and provide self-defense training for girls.

Amal Disaster & Rescue Force

Persons in Charge

Dr. Fawas P

ADMRF Coordinator

About

The Amal College created the Amal Disaster Management and Rescue Force during the 2019 flood in the Nilambur region. The area is prone to natural disasters such as floods and landslides due to its location near hills and forests. Student volunteers are trained by competent authorities to respond to emergency situations. The force serves as a vital resource for the community, providing much-needed assistance during times of crisis.

Activities

The ADMRF club members attend regular training programs to stay prepared for emergencies. During the COVID-19 lockdown, the club played a crucial role in coordinating and supplying necessities to affected people. In 2019, during the flood, the club acted as a collection point for assistance from neighboring districts and distributed it to the beneficiaries. Additionally, the team provided free cleaning services to flood-affected houses. The club’s dedicated efforts in disaster management and relief have greatly impacted the local community.
