On September 21, 2021, NSS volunteers from Amal College Nilambur led a Tribal Upliftment Program in Palakkayam, a tribal settlement in the educationally deprived Chaliyar region. Collaborating with Chaliyar Panchayath and the Forest Department, the initiative aimed to address educational disparities, post-COVID reconstruction, and social cohesion among rural and tribal students. Despite the area’s rich tribal heritage, socio-economic challenges persist, requiring concerted efforts for meaningful upliftment.
