On 22nd January 2024, the Research and Postgraduate Department of English at Amal College of Advanced Studies Nilambur organized a ceremony to honour the achievements of its students and faculty. The event was attended by Sri. PV Abdul Wahab MP, the patron of Amal College, and Prof. Zacaria TV, the principal of Amal College.

The ceremony included the release of an ISBN book titled “English Language and Literature: Perspectives and Practices”, edited by Dr. Abdul Latheef K, the head of the department, and co-authored by the faculty members and research scholars of the department. The book is a collection of essays on various topics related to English language and literature, such as linguistics, literary criticism, cultural studies, translation studies, and media studies.

The ceremony also honoured the UGC JRF/NET winners for 2023 and the ASPIRE Research Scholarship winners for 2023-24 from the department. The UGC JRF/NET is a national-level examination conducted by the University Grants Commission (UGC) to determine the eligibility of candidates for lectureship and research fellowship in Indian universities and colleges. The ASPIRE Research Scholarship is a state-level scheme initiated by the Government of Kerala to promote research and innovation among postgraduate students in science and humanities.

The UGC JRF/NET winners for 2023 are: Fathima Shifap P, Hamna MK, Fathima Sahla, Rishad K, Jahana P, Thejnawi M P, Riya Anisha, Julia C P, Nidha M, and Sahla M. The ASPIRE Research Scholarship winners for 2023-24 are: Fathima Shifap P, Hamna MK, Fathima Sahla, Rishad K, Jahana P, Thejnawi M P, Riya Anisha, Julia C P, Nidha M, Sahla M, and Anjali K.

The ceremony was a proud moment for the department and the college, as it showcased the academic excellence and research potential of its students and faculty. The ceremony also inspired the other students and staff members to pursue their academic goals and contribute to the advancement of knowledge and society.
