About NMOC

Education for the orphans and destitutes

The Nilambur Muslim Orphanage was established in 1969, and its inauguration took place on December 19, 1969, with 11 inmates. Nalakath Veeran Haji (Late) generously donated 26 acres of land for the establishment of Yatheem Khana (Orphanage). In 1970, the Nilambur Orphanage Committee was formed and registered under the Society Act of 1860 (Registration No. 8/1970). The late Dr. M. Usman Sahib served as the first President of the committee. The Orphanage received approval from the Orphanage Control Board.

The organization’s primary objective was to provide basic education, food, and shelter to orphans and destitutes. In 1975, another Yatheem Khana was established in Eranhimangad specifically for girl students. The committee purchased the land for this purpose. Both Yatheem Khanas played a significant role in nurturing and supporting underprivileged children by offering a safe haven and educational opportunities.

“As the Chairman of the Nilambur Muslim Orphanage Committee (NMOC), I take immense pride in our noble mission of uplifting the underprivileged individuals residing in rural areas like Nilambur. Our primary focus is to provide quality education and training to school and college students, and we are grateful for the unwavering support of institutions like Amal College and JSS in our endeavors. We diligently work towards mobilizing resources from the government and philanthropic sources to further our cause. The steady growth of our infrastructure and facilities fills us with joy and motivates us to continue our efforts. I am wholeheartedly committed to ensuring the well-being and protection of needy orphans and destitutes through our orphanage. Together, we can create a lasting impact and empower these individuals for a brighter future.”
